Someone at the American Legion building in Three Rivers celebrated the holidays by parking Santa atop the WWII tank that sits next to their building. I suppose it could be seen as either amusing... or horrible.
The WWII history buff in «Louis» lit up when he saw this tank - but he doesn't know what type of tank it is. He does know, however, that it isn't a Sherman. Perhaps it is a forerunner of the Sherman.
The idea for tanks came from the fertile mind of Winston Churchill early in WWI.
I was going to say that about the photo ("amusing or horible"). I hope it doesn't mean that Santa will not deliver tanks (or other weaponary for that matter) as Christmas presents.
Regardless, it's a photo that makes me smile. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment on my blog the other day.
Yeah. Santa definitely looks war-weary... :-) But its how everyone's living their lives now... fearful of the war that may break-out "within" us and outside us...
Three Rivers is a small city in the U.S. midwest, halfway between Detroit and Chicago. This blog consists of photos taken in the City of Three Rivers, Michigan, and in the surrounding Three Rivers postal zone area. Well, those naughty little boys and girls sure better be hiding when Santa arrives in his tank!
Silly.
Fun shot, though.
Re: Gray skies and slippery roads - been there, done that. Lived for years in Minnesota, Illinois, Pennsylvania!

I think it's a great idea. It looks funny.
I thought that Santa Claus was a pacifist
I can't make up my mind!

Growing up as a kid, we saw Santa arrive on a fire-truck but never a tank!
I can tell you what my Swedish friends in Minnesota would say to this Santa on Christmas morning: "Tanks a lot, yah!"
I know things are bad in Michigan, but, I had no idea they were this bad.
I vote for amusing...
